Last Week was a bit of a marathon week.  On Wednesday we have the New Hope Advent Concert, Friday 1 Nutcracker, Saturday 3 Nutcrackers and 2 performances for Appleton Boychoir, Sunday we filmed Christmas Stars.  All great performances!

Shooting for The Tavern League tomorrow at Radisson Hotel in Appleton.  This weekend, a wedding in Milwaukee.

Power of One is right around the corner and we are excited to be part of it again this year!

Well, we wrapped up our busy season with another Lifest!  What a great event.  We were able to use the LVS800 mixer on main stage that we purchased back in December.  It was the perfect mixer for the demands on that stage (or any of the stages for that matter).  We also purchased two new HD cameras the HMC150 and the HMC80, both of which performed well.  I think the 80 might be slightly better suited for this style of events then the 150, but still hard to say.

On a personal note, I went in for Hip Resurfacing on Monday of this week and am recovering fairly well. Came home yesterday and today I hope to be able to get some editing work done.

CVS will be sending a shooter (Kym) down to Fond du Lac to shoot a Missoula Production.

Over the past couple of weeks we have covered several dance shows with several more to go!  Lifest! is right around the corner as well.  This year we will be covering three stages (up from two).  We're excited to use the LVS800 on main stage, moving the tricaster over to the EDGE stage.  I am starting to get used to the new HD camera and am looking at purchasing another to match it.  It would be great to offer the the 2011 Nutcrackers in HD this year!

Just purchased our first HD camera, the HMC 80.  I've had my eye on the HMC40 (little sister) for the past year and a half.  The 80 seems to be just a tad bit better bang for the buck.  Champion Video plans to begin rolling out all HD videos for our existing clients by the end of this year.

Busy weekend with Valley Figure Skating Ice Show on Thursday, Northern Dance's Dance Show on Friday and Saturday, and Vintage Finale on Saturday.

Champion Video has again been selected to offer live IMAG services for Lifest!, a 5 day Christian Music Festival in Oshkosh Wisconin in July. This year we will be offering live IMAG on three stages, Main Stage, The Edge Stage, and The Comedy Cafe.

Just got back from filming a Beauty Pageant, Ms. Green Bay Area.  Last year's winner went on to win Ms. Wisconsin and even got to compete in Ms. America.  Coming up we are starting to enter into our Dance Show and Ice Show season.  We are also looking forward to again filming the Extreme Makeover put on by a local Chiropractic Office that will feature special guest speaker, Donald Driver!

We also heard that we may be covering three stages at this year's Lifest!  In the past we have supplied a four man team for main stage and a three man team for the Edge stage.  This year they would like to also provide video at the Comedy Cafe as well.

On the downside, it turns out that Lifest is the same week as the Encore Nationals this year, so we won't be covering the Dance Nationals this year.  We really enjoyed that event and will miss not seeing the friends we have made there.

Can't believe it's going to be a new year already!  Coming up in January we have the opportunity to do Bravo again after they took a break from the production last year.  Looking forward to that!

Recently purchased the LVS800 8 channel video mixer from Edirol.  The 8 channels include 8 composite, 4 S-Video, and 2 PC inputs.  There are two separate outputs that can be configured separately, and one includes a down stream key allowing for graphics to be overlayed to video that is being switched.  The two separate outputs allow for many advantages such as giving us a record master that is different then what we are presenting.  Or being able to control multiple screens with different inforamtion (ex. powerpoint on one and live video on the other).  Looking forward to getting used to the new piece of equipment!

We have a crazy busy December coming up.  8 Nutcrackers, a Holiday Dance Show, Appleton Boychoir, and Christmas Stars all in a three week spread.  We are blessed to have this amount of work and look forward to all of the Holiday Cheer!

Gearing up for Power of One at Oshkosh North again.  We also will be filming Mary Cattertain at New English Church for a benefit concert for Habitat for Humanity.

Lifest! was awesome as always.  Had a few new people on our team this year and they all did a great job.

We just got back from Cincinatti, Ohio where Champion Video provided video services for Encore Talent Productions 2010 Dance Nationals.  In addition to selling DVDs of the dancer's performance, we offered the ability for the dancers to preview their number before purchasing.  We also provided video playback of the winning dances when they took the stage to accept their awards.  It was a long four days of competition but Champion Video was proud to be the video company chosen to offer these services.  Next week:  LIFEST!

We are in the middle of our dance recital and ice show season.  Throughout the spring Champion Video will be supplying video services for HOTV Dance, HOTV YMCA, N/M YMCA, Town of Menasha Rec, Mirror Image Dance Academy, Northern Dance Academy, Vintage Show Choir, Manitowoc Figure Skating Club, Kettle Moraine Figure Skating Club, and Fox Valley Figure Skating Club.

Champion Video has been selected to again provide live IMAG for LIFEST! 2010.

Champion Video has been selected to provide the live IMAG for Marc Golde's Show of Shows.

Christmas is almost here and you know what that means!  You guessed it!!!  The Nutcracker Ballet! In addition to once again filming the Appleton Mirror Image Nutcracker Ballet, we also filmed the West Bend Mirror Image Nutcracker Ballet.  In addition, for the 9th year in a row, we filmed the Appleton Boychoir's Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols which will air on NBC26 on Christmas Eve at 10:35pm and Christmas Day at 6:00am.  In addition MYNEW 32 will air the performance at 8:00 am on Christmas Day.

Check out the Power of One Concert at Appleton North High School on October 10th.  Champion Video will be providing a 3 camera live mix of the bands and throwing it to large screens live during the show.

Champion Video has been selected to provide a 2 camera live mix for the Unite for Life Banquet at the Radisson Inn on Thursday, September 24th.

Can't believe that it's almost fall already!  Champion Video is carefully following the development of a new HD camera that is due to be out this month.  As we begin our migration to a full HD platform, we will be adding three new HD cameras, new cabling, and eventually a new HD switcher (check out the xd300 by Newtek)

Lifest 2009 was a blast!  Champion Video had two crews on two different stages:  Main Stage and The Edge Stage.  On the Main Stage we ran a three camera live mix and on the Edge it was a two camera mix.  The weather held out and it was a great Christian event!

It's been a busy month.  Mirror Image Dance Academy, Stillman School of Dance, Throwdown at Tanners, and Encore! National Dance Competition has kept us busy!!  Coming up in a two weeks is Lifest!  Check it out here.

Champion Video had Trey LaPalm, an up-and-coming musician, into the studio for a three camera live mix of his original song, "Strong Enough".  We took a simple approach to get him a great looking video with a ultra quick turn around (We call it our "Fast Track").  We started at 8:00 p.m. and by 10:30 p.m. Trey was holding his DVD in his hand.  Take a look and listen, you'll be humming along after just a few measures.
